Ouderschap kan het meest uitdagende en ongewenste ding zijn dat je hebt gedaan zonder kennis van narcisme.

Dit is zeker het geval als je zelfs bent opgevoed op een manier waarmee je niet tevreden bent. Misschien heb je zelfs het vermoeden dat jouw zorgfiguren narcistische kenmerken hadden.

Was één ouder of beide ouders van jou ‘narcistisch”? Heb je daarvan gedragingen overgenomen door een gebrek aan kennis van narcisme?

Het is natuurlijk om in de war te voelen. Zelfs paniek kan naar bovenkomen. Bijvoorbeeld door de gedachte om jezelf genoeg bij elkaar te houden om een gelukkig, gezond, slim en evenwichtig kind te bevorderen.

De details maken echter niet zoveel uit als je denkt wat ze doen.

Het is het grote, geborgen gevoel van je warme thuis. Ook je relaties met de deelnemers is wat telt. In de opvoeding van je kinderen sta je best niet alleen. Bovendien om de vrede die je uitstraalt.

Misschien moet je werken. Maak je fouten? Iedereen maakt fouten. Je bent nog steeds mama of papa. Je houdt nog steeds van je kind. Dat is wat echt belangrijk is.

Om u te laten weten dat het kan goed worden als u leert om de juiste houding te krijgen door uw kennis van narcisme te verhogen. Daarom is er ook een begrippenlijst waar je je kennis van narcisme kan testen en vervolledigen.

Verhalen over interacties met narcissen laten ons soms een ‘aha’ beleven.

Zo’n moment geeft ons een aha-moment van herkenning, waarin het puzzelgedrag en de interacties met de narcisten in ons eigen leven plotseling duidelijk worden.

Alleen door te lezen of te horen over de verdrukkingen van anderen kunnen sommigen van ons dat resonantie akkoord vinden die ons attent maakt op de narcistische mishandeling in ons eigen leven en hoe ons er van te transformeren.

Je kunt je beslissingen die je neemt om meer kennis te hebben over narcisme en over jezelf als co-dependent “accountable” maken bij iemand die je echt vertrouwt.
